Doorways, floors and hardware that work for everyone

Small changes throughout the home add up. We widen doorways and hallways toward a 36-inch clear opening so walkers and wheelchairs pass through easily, swap round doorknobs for lever handles, and replace slick or uneven flooring with slip-resistant surfaces and low-profile transitions. Better task lighting and night lighting cut down on missteps after dark, and in Colorado’s cold months heated floors keep tile from feeling icy and slick.

Main-floor living and no-step entries

When stairs become a daily obstacle, we bring the essentials to one level. That can mean converting a main-floor office or den into a primary suite with an accessible bathroom, so you no longer have to climb to sleep or bathe. Outside, we build no-step entries and gently sloped ramps so getting in and out of the house is safe in every season.

Kitchens and everyday reach

In the kitchen we can lower a section of countertop for seated prep, add pull-out shelves and drawers so you are not reaching into deep cabinets, install lever or touch faucets, and improve lighting over work areas. The idea is the same in every room: keep what you use most within easy reach, and take the effort out of the tasks you do every day.

Permits for accessibility and remodeling work in Colorado Springs and El Paso County are handled through the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department. We pull all required permits on your behalf and coordinate inspections so your project stays compliant from demolition through final walkthrough. Colorado Springs winters bring ice and snow, so slip resistance, no-step entries and heated floors matter here more than in milder climates, and we plan every project around them.
